Protecting Your Link Directory

Hard drive failures, browser corruption, or device losses can wipe out years of curated bookmark folders. Backing up your links periodically prevents these digital disasters.

Method 1: Local HTML Backups

Most browsers support manual HTML exports. Navigate to the Bookmark Manager, click Export, and save the file to an external drive. Remember to perform this monthly to capture new additions.

Method 2: Browser Account Syncing

Sign into Chrome, Firefox, or Safari accounts to sync bookmarks to their respective clouds. However, this locks you into their ecosystem, and sync errors can occasionally cause duplicates or data loss.

Method 3: Database Backups on cPanel

If you host TopRatedBookmark, your link backups are managed directly on your hosting account. Go to phpMyAdmin, select your database, and run an Export. Your dashboard settings, user accounts, and links are saved in a single, portable SQL file.
